The Site
Berkeley has owned the land for many years, having acquired it from the Ministry of Defence in the late 1990s.
The site measures approximately 7.4 hectares or 18 acres. The site is currently an area of grassland and scrub vegetation located on the north eastern edge of Devizes.
The land is allocated for employment use in the Wiltshire Core Strategy adopted in 2015 (Core Policy 12). The Core Strategy can be accessed from the following link:

The Surroundings
Immediately adjacent to the site to the west is an area of land measuring approximately 1.1 hectares or 2.8 acres currently used for motorcycle training. This land is covered by the same Core Strategy policy but it is in separate ownership. It does not form part of our current plans but our proposals would not preclude the land being developed in the future.
Beyond the motorcycle training facility is London Road (A361) with the Hopton Industrial Estate opposite.
To the south of the site is Horton Road with residential areas and a Council depot located opposite.
To the east of the site is a small residential area: Wellington Drive and Marlborough Close.
To the north of the site there is a boundary with mature vegetation with agricultural fields beyond.
